Methodology:
The data in this report emerged from Nielsen Claritas’ effort to score the retail growth potential of all markets in the United States. Analysts evaluated the 936 core based statistical areas that are defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Researchers used data from several proprietary Nielsen Claritas sources, including Pop-Facts, the Shopping Center Database, Business-Facts and the PRIZM segmentation system, which classifies Americans according to 66 lifestyle types grouped into 14 social categories.
