With the signing of a lease for 32,000 square feet in the 450,000-square-foot office building at 370 3rd Street in San Francisco, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will forsake its current Union Square locale for larger digs in the South of Market district. The network inked the deal with Lane Partners L.L.C., committing to a long-term occupancy at the green property, one the first Class A office buildings in the SoMa district to meet LEED Core and Shell standards. Comcast plans to make a multi-million investment in the space, which will encompass a studio, newsroom, production facilities and office accommodations. The company will make the move to its new headquarters in early 2009.
