San Diego Mayor Cleared of Developer-Related Allegations
May 21, 2008
Source: San Diego Union-Tribune

The state Attorney General's Office has cleared San Diego's mayor of allegations that he had corrupt dealings with the developer of the Sunroad office tower. Eleven months ago, city attorney Michael Aguirre said Sanders had struck a back-room deal and offered special access to Aaron Feldman of Sunroad Enterprises.

The trouble began when Sunroad -- a firm led by officials who helped elect Sanders, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune -- built a Kearny Mesa office tower whose height was above aviation limits. That facility was eventually lowered from 180 to 160 feet.
