Ground Breaks on Healthcare Firm's $50M Production Facility in L.A.

Grifols Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Barcelona, Spain-based global healthcare company Grifols SA, kicked off development of a new 92,000-square-foot intravenous immune globulin production facility in Los Angeles. The new facility, which will cost an estimated $50 million to complete, will be located on Grifols existing manufacturing campus just blocks from California State University-Los Angeles. Operating on a schedule partially dictated by regulatory licensing requirements processes, Grifols expects to open the doors of the production center in 2013, at which point it will add 300 new jobs to the area.
