Bavar Properties Group has revealed plans to develop a seven-building office park in southeast Orlando. “We haven’t finalized the site plan, design or development cost estimates yet, but I would put the project in the range of $70 to $75 million,” David Bavar, president of BPG, told CPN today.

Called Orlando OffiCenter, the 375,000-square-foot, single story office campus will occupy a 34-acre parcel. BPG intends to begin construction within the next 12 months.

According to Bavar, business growth around the Orlando airport is spurring demand for Class A office space. “Orlando is more than a tourist destination,” he said. “The city is attracting major advanced technology and biotechnology tenants.”

Orlando OffiCenter is BPG’s third Florida project. Over the past two years, Bavar added Semoran CommerCenter in Orlando and Northpointe OffiCenter in Lake Mary to its development/ownership portfolio. NAI Realvest in Maitland, Fla., is leasing both projects and co-developing Semoran CommerCenter.

BPG is also developing three office projects in Northern Virginia and two retail centers in Columbia, Md. The company’s portfolio spans 2.5 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and flex/warehouse space in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Florida.
