The Florida Marlins baseball park edges closer toward realization now that Miami-Dade County circuit Court Judge Jeri Beth Cohen has ruled that the development will serve the public good. Officials of Miami-Dade County, The City of Miami and the Florida Marlins commended the Judge's decision in a release that lauded the project as a vital tool for local revitalization and economic development. To be located on the city-owned site that had been home to the Orange Bowl, the planned stadium would create an estimated 250 new jobs and 2,000 new part-time positions, and would lure more visitors to the area. The project carries a development price tag of approximately $515 million.
