ProLogis has signed new lease agreements in Atlanta in eight transactions totaling approximately 946,000 square feet during the third quarter of 2008.

Lennox Industries, a leading provider of customized home comfort systems, residential generators and indoor air quality products, leased approximately 254,000 square feet with ProLogis at Midland Distribution Center #1, located near the intersection of Interstate 75 and McDonough Road, southeast of Atlanta. The agreement marked the fifth lease between the two companies. Lennox currently occupies approximately 590,000 square feet of distribution space with ProLogis in various locations across the United States.

Also during the third quarter, ProLogis leased approximately 540,000 square feet to JVC America Inc., a  manufacturer of home, mobile and automotive electronics equipment and accessories, at New Manchester Distribution Center, located two miles south of Interstate 20 on Camp Creek Parkway. The agreement marked JVC’s first lease agreement with ProLogis.

In addition to JVC, key new customers include Maintenance Supply Headquarters, H2H Installed Solutions, US Quartz Products, Hair Leader, Benchmark Logistics and Atlanta Freight Forwarders.

“We are pleased that our Atlanta market team successfully leased a significant amount of distribution space during the third quarter, despite challenging economic conditions,” Richard Strader, ProLogis senior vice president and regional director in the Southeast said in a release. “We welcomed seven new customers into our Atlanta portfolio this quarter and are pleased that our  buildings’ features and locations were well-designed to support their distribution needs.”
