It's curtains for the old Hapeville Ford plant. The Atlanta-area plant is being demolished to make way for a redevelopment of the 122-acre site adjacent to the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport following Ford and Jacoby Development's deal struck last week. The sale price was not disclosed.
The new development will be an "aerotropolis", according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It will be an aviation-intensive area that could potentially include office, retail, restaurant, hotel, and airport parking, the newspaper reports.
