N.J. Officials Sue Developer Over School Building Project
June 18, 2008
Source: The Star-Ledger

State officials in New Jersey have filed suit against a developer, seeking more than $6.5 million in damages stemming from allegations that they were not properly informed of mold contamination at a Neptune school building project. The Gilbane Building Company, which was paid $4.37 million for their project management of the job, did not act to protect the state's interests.

The partially built Neptune Community Middle School was demolished last year after discovery of mold contamination. That in turn not only added $13 million to the school's construction costs, but also delayed the project by a year.
