Chicago Children's Museum Lowers Profile to Comply With Regulations

The Chicago Children's Museum has released a new proposed design in order to comply with restrictions barring buildings in the city's Grant Park. In order to lower its profile, the museum will no longer have 16-foot skylight structures. Its designers have also decided to move an entry pavilion outside of park property, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"It's a considerable reduction in profile," Grant Park Conservancy president Bob O'Neill told the Tribune. "It's going to be very difficult legally to challenge now." The museum is also seeking to build a $15 million fieldhouse for the Chicago Park District.
