Panel to Find Owner for Maryland Hospitals
June 13, 2008
Source: Washington Post

A new seven-member panel was sworn in this week with the intent of finding a new owner for the struggling Prince George County (Maryland) hospital system. The hospitals, which serve 180,000 people per year, have been losing money for years, according to the Washington Post.

"This event is an important step," Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley told the Post. "We've got a lot of long days ahead of us." The panel will be accepting bids from health-care firms interested in taking charge of the system, which is currently county-owned.
