Pennsylvania Firm Closing Distribution Center
June 13, 2008
Source: Philadelphia Business Journal

A Pennsylvania-based company is shutting the doors on a distribution firm effective Sept. 30, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. GSI Commerce, Inc., has decided to close its e-commerce retail and distribution center in Portland, Tenn. The reason for the closure is that Restoration Hardware, which had initially contracted with GSI for distribution, has chosen to move these activities in-house.

GSI, which is based in King of Prussia, has four fulfillment centers, four customer-care centers, two data centers, and three office locations across the country. The Tennessee distribution center is the only one to close its doors.
