Room & Board Leases 40,000SF for LA Store in Culver City
May 19, 2008

Grubb & Ellis Co. and Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura, Inc., said today that Room & Board, a Minneapolis-based furniture retailer, has leased 40,000 square feet of retail space at 9300 Culver Blvd in Culver City, Calif.  The location will be the company’s entry into the Los Angeles marketplace.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Room & Board’s store will be located in the Plaza at Culver Studios, an 118,500-square-foot, three-story mixed-use building scheduled to commence construction this summer.  This is the last phase of a 10-year, 11.5-acre redevelopment program called the Town Plaza/Screenland Project.  The project is a part of a 2½-block long pedestrian promenade called the Town Plaza.  Room & Board is the first retail tenant to sign onto this mixed-use project, which is being developed by Rush Pacifica, a San Diego-based company.  The home furnishing retailer will occupy 17,000 square feet on the ground floor and 23,000 square feet on the second floor of the project.  The store is slated to open in early 2010. Grubb & Ellis’ West Los Angeles office represented Room & Board in the transaction.  Rush Pacifica was represented by Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura.
