Transwestern has launched its implementation phase of the U.S. Green Building Council’s pilot portfolio program for its managed portfolio. The implementation is focused on the new LEED® for existing buildings operation and maintenance rating system released by the USGBC in February. The USGBC pilot portfolio program is working with participants to develop methods for streamlining LEED certification for building managers and owners seeking certification for a large number of buildings. Transwestern has enrolled 51 existing buildings from around the country in the program, totaling over 18 million square feet.
