Leonard "Buddy" Wineburgh, president & CEO of Dwinn-Shaffer & Co., died on Saturday at his residence. He was 81 years old.
Wineburgh joined Dwinn-Shaffer & Co. in 1964. He became a partner in the firm in 1968 and became president in 1985 and later chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the company, positions he held until his passing.
Throughout his career Buddy was on the forefront of the industry, arranging for financing for such Chicago institutions as the East Bank Club and The Ambassador West Hotel.
He is survived by his wife, his three daughters and son Andrew Wineburgh, who continues in the business as executive vice president of Dwinn-Shaffer.
