Jones Lang LaSalle Board of Directors Member Dies

Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. said today that Sir Derek Higgs, a member of its board of directors, died suddenly in London on Monday, at the age of 64. Sir Derek had served as a director since March 1999 and also served as chairman of the audit committee of the board.

Allied Partners' Hadar Busted for Drugs
According to a report in the New York Daily News, Eric Hadar, CEO of Allied Partners, was busted for drugs, including cocaine, Oxycontin and Xanax, He was stopped while driving erratically Friday on the Saw Mill River Parkway in New York and is due to make a court appearance on two felony counts today in Westchester, N,Y., the paper stated. His real estate firm bought the Citigroup Center on Lexington Ave. for $725 million in 2001.
Behringer Harvard to Set Up Shop in Germany
With an eye on ramping up its global footprint, Behringer Harvard is opening an office in Hamburg, Germany, that will begin operations this month. The Dallas-headquartered firm’s Hamburg location will focus on European real estate acquisitions, as well as asset and property management for Behringer Harvard’s assets in Europe.

About six weeks after concluding its offering of 14.95 million shares of common stock, Long Beach-headquartered HCP Inc. has completed the integration of its $3 billion acquisition of Slough Estates USA Inc. that closed in August 2007. The Slough portfolio is primarily located in San Diego and San Francisco, two of the three largest life science clusters in the country.
