Host Hotels, RECO Hotels Hires Meyer as Managing Director

Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. and RECO Hotels JV Private Limited said today that Peter Meyer has been appointed the managing director of the companies' Asian joint venture. Meyer will be based in Singapore. He brings a wide range of lodging, real estate investment and development experience in countries throughout Asia including Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Micronesia, Korea, Singapore, the Philippines and Fiji to the position. He has developed extensive relationships during his 18 years of business experience in the region. Meyer was most recently with New City Corp. as group executive vice president.

New SEC Head Faces Tough Tasks
President-elect Barack Obama has picked Mary Schapiro to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission. Schaprio was a member of the SEC from 1988 to 1994--originally appointed by President Reagan--and is currently CEO of the non-governmental Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, a post she has held for about two years. She also chaired of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for two years during the Clinton administration.
Liquid Realty Hires Gabrielsen as Associate
Liquid Realty Partners has hired Rein Gabrielsen as associate. In this role, Gabrielsen has responsibility for portfolio management functions of the firm's investments, and participates in investment analysis and reporting for Liquid Realty's funds.
